Dr. Adams specializes in the poetry and prose of the British long nineteenth-century and teaches classes on Romanticism, Victorian poetry, women and anger, the imperial gothic, race and horror, and critical theory. Her current research project focuses on the intersection of the medical humanities and the history of emotion, examining the ways in which texts about women's anger complicated prevailing ideas about pregnancy, motherhood, disease, and disability.
